Town and District Councillor Alan Caine has put out a plea for people to help others if the weather worsens.
Cllr Caine asked on Facebook for people with four wheel drive vehicles to contact him if there is snow and if they are available to help.
“Snow or not, it’s mighty cold,” he said. “Please check on elderly and vulnerable neighbours and friends.”
Coal is available for sale at Toppers and Southdale service station. he added.
