Groups and individuals alike gathered in the Market Place for the parade shortly before 10am and then marched down to the Methodist Church, where a service was held jointly by the town’s Anglican and Methodist Churches.

Many more people who could not cram into the church turned out at the War Memorial in South Street for the reading of names, two minutes’ silence and the laying of wreaths.

It was heart warming to see so many people, especially the young, honouring those who gave their lives for our freedom in all conflicts. The area surrounding our war memorial was thronged with local people paying their respects. Caistor should be proud!
