It looked like a new Caistor Craze called ‘spade-bouncing’, but this was serious stuff, it was the Caistor GO2 volunteers spending their Saturday morning at the Caistor Yarborough Academy planting 200 new trees to help keep the planet safe.
With an almost military precision, under the careful mentorship of Dan Kendall of Watson Lindsey Arboriculture the Rowan, wild cherry, oak, ash, grey willow and silver birch trees were carefully planted by the team. Now, as Dan told the Citizen the work continues with the trees, since the planting is just the start, now they need nurturing to become giants of the future and keep us all breathing.
