A Case to Make
This morning we were joined by Caistor poet David Rivett (pictured). The Citizen welcomes other creative writing.
If you have something nice to say,
Say it with flowers the Caistor way.
The lupines loop, the poppies pop,
Outside the pub and every shop.
From painted wagon on the hill
Each tub and pot will get its fill
And there beside the Co-op store
And quite adjacent to the door
Showy rows of blooming roses
Offer scents to please our noses.
It’s not as if this town deflowered
By some sneaking night time coward.
The place has flashed its charms around
But folks have laughed and no one frowned.
With Caistor flowers and tea and cake
This Caistor has a case to make.
