New Town Clerk welcomed

The new clerk to Caistor Town Council, Jim Hanrahan, was warmly welcomed at the council’s January meeting this week (Thursday, January 11, 2018).

Mr Hanrahan, who has extensive experience of working in local government, shared the night’s duties with outgoing clerk Helen Pitman.

They both lined up for a photocall along with the town’s Mayor Alan Somerscales after the meeting.

Mr Hanrahan, who looked comfortable and authoritative in the role during the meeting, was greeted by Cllr Somerscales on behalf of his fellow councillors, Lincolnshire County Councillor Tony Turner and West Lindsey District Councillor Angela Lawrence. He said after the meeting that he had already met many of the town councillors earlier in the week and that he had previously been clerk at Newark.

Miss Pitman said she had recently taken on new roles with other councils, but as they were part-time, she is now hoping to enjoy more time to herself.
