Caistor votes today on Neighbourhood Plan

Caistor is one of two communities within the West Lindsey District to vote on their Neighbourhood Plans today (Thursday, January 28, 2016), with the other being Nettleham near Lincoln.

Work on drawing up the Caistor Neighbourhood Plan began in 2011. The plan can be viewed at http://parishes.lincolnshire.gov.uk/Files/Parish/53/The_Caistor_Neighbourhood_Planlow_res.pdf

According to a report presented in December to West Lindsey’s Prosperous Communities Committee, the district council is likely to qualify for financial assistance of up to £30,000 for each plan.

If more than 50% of the votes cast in each community support their respective plans, West Lindsey will move to make them legal documents.

In Caistor, voting will be at the Town Hall between 7am and 10pm. The question to be posed to voters is expected to read: “Do you want West Lindsey District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Caistor to help it decide planning applications in the neighbourhood area?”

The result is expected to be announced on Friday.

– Please note, the Citizen can no longer publish comments about the referendum until the result has been declared.
