A Great Christmas Light Switch on for Caistor : Guy Martin came too

December 5th 2021 : Voted the best ever Caistor Christmas Tree Light Switch on

Despite the changing weather a massive crowd came out to play on the Caistor Market Square on Sunday afternoon to watch the 2021 Christmas tree lights switched on.

The fun started, as planned at 1pm, and slowly the crowd swelled. It was great to see all the local businesses open for them, including the new eating venues in South Street, ‘Ted’s cafe’ and ‘The Side by Side’.

Stalf (The Settlement) looked splendid and Santa waved from the balcony as always, but this year the big red button was pressed form a lorry trailer at the top of the square by Caistor Mayor, Jon Wright, and local hero Guy Martin, who seemed to be enjoying the local fish and chips.

Everyone we asked said it was the best Christmas switch on ever, and wanted to thank the volunteers for all the hard work they had put in. It really does look like Christmas has arrived in Caistor.

If you enjoyed the afternoon please make a comment so we can pass it onto the volunteers

Three C’s make Caistor a special Community : We Care about it, We Communicate and We Cooperate. Those three things, some planning some great photos and a lot of hard work from everyone involved gives us wonderful memories of times like this.

    Hello Caistor!
Is such a blessing to see so many faces that I know from the time I was a Carer in your quiet village. Most of you don’t know me, but I have good memory of faces. ? I spent 3 years there and I met so many nice and kind people. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year ? Cosmin(John)

Caistor is just a wonderful little town. Moira & I arrived here in April 2020, during lockdown, but have had the warmest of welcomes from all quarters. It is a brilliant place to get involved, & we welcome everyone who cares about the place they live. Wishing everyone in & around Caistor a joyful & warm Christmas, followed with a happy & fulfilling 2022 ?☃️??

Wonderful occasion. Let’s say a big thank you to all who made it possible. They give up their time and put in a massive effort for all sorts of occasions. Rob is right about his three Cs and I’d like to add the word ‘contribute’ which he does in spades.

You’re absolutely right on that Jenny, so many people contributed their time, effort and skills to make the town look beautiful and ensure the switch on was a real festive occasion, thank you to them all.
      Agreed, let’s make it 4 C’s. 🙂
