Caistor’s Young Environmentalists

On Saturday ( Jan 26th 2019) a newly formed group of people of all ages met at the Caistor Primary School. Under the leadership of the school children and teacher Nick McCann they began by discussing environmental issues facing not only Caistor but the whole World in 2019.

The objectives of the group were discussed, and included engaging with issues over waste plastic, litter picking, planting new trees and promoting activities such as walking buses for children to get to school.

If you are interested in getting involved the next meeting will be at the school on Saturday 16th February at 12 noon. Please let Nick McCann know or message the Caistor Citizen and we will pass your details on to him.

After the initial discussions the youngsters and adults all worked together to design a name and a logo for the group.

Super idea. Todays young people are tomorrow’s world.
These young people being aware of enviromental issues is key to the protection of our planet going forward.

Within the next few weeks Caistor in Bloom will be undertaking its first big cleanup of 2019 around Caistor to grapple with the eternal blight of litter.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the litter pick and general clean up around the town. If any of these young people and parents are available please advise.
