Take a seat and enjoy the views

Two new benches have been donated to Caistor by the Caistor and District Lions and both were fully installed today (Monday, February 12, 2018) by members of the club.

One was installed at the junction of The Meadow and Navigation Lane and the other on Southdale at its junction with Vicarage Close. The benches are of high quality and are situated at key locations to provide a rest point for the many pedestrians who use these footpaths.

The idea of the benches was to take into account the steep gradients on many local routes which are a challenge to some senior citizens who use them on a regular basis.

Yvonne Woolston, who lives adjacent to The Meadow, told of her appreciation at having a bench situated nearby and has offered her thanks to Caistor and District Lions for their donation, adding that it was a major asset to Navigation Lane.

“It is a long way from the bottom of the road to the top – and up hill – for many people to walk without taking a rest break,” she said.
