Lions reveal their burning ambition

by Lion Kate.

This amazingly well-crafted longship looks far too magnificent to be destroyed on Bonfire Night, but that is likely to be its fate later this week (November 4, 2017).

The longship was made with the help of local farmer Rob Turner ready for Caistor Lions’ Viking themed Bonfire and Firework Display.

Taking place in South Street Park, this annual event has become synonymous with Caistor at this time of year.

So far this year, the Lions have already distributed more than £15,000 to local good causes.

A fire and drums procession will begin the evening on Saturday at 6.45pm, with the opening firework display at 7pm, followed by the lighting of the bonfire.

The Lions’ catering tent and other stalls will help to keep all the family warm and entertained.

This year there will also be additional parking, kindly provided by Caistor Yarborough Academy.
