In Bloom AGM is on Monday

Caistor In Bloom has been revealing some of its plans for 2016 ahead of the group’s annual meeting on Monday evening.

The Queen’s 90th birthday will be the theme for the Market Place and town centre this year, with a display of red, white and blue flowers. It will include canopy planting in the Market Place with its own irrigation system, with some of the lamp-post planters being relocated.

Besides Monday’s AGM, other events being planned are a Clean For The Queen Day on Saturday, March 5, between 1pm and 3pm, setting out from the Multi-Use Centre, a Spring Open Gardens on Sunday, April 3, and a Summer Open Gardens Weekend on June 18 and 19.

Volunteers from the Army Cadets and Glebe House have so far offered to help the In Bloom efforts this year, and a further resident has come forward with an offer to help with sustainable planting near the new Caistor signs on the approaches into the town.

Pastel colours are planned for Horsemarket and Fountain Street, and it is hoped the wildflower meadows will be re-sown in April.

Anyone interested in helping to raise funds for the British Red Cross by opening their garden in the summer is invited to either pick up a form from Caistor Post Office, or to contact info@caistori8nbloom.co.uk by April 15.

The AGM will be at the Multi-Use Centre on Monday at 7pm.
