Proposals by NatWest for half-hour visits by its mobile bank have been queried by a resident at a town council meeting.
The mobile bank is due to visit the Town Hall car park on Mondays and Thursdays between 11.40am and 12.10pm, starting later this month, the meeting heard on Thursday (August 13, 2015).
Five minutes have also been allocated at the start and end of the visits for setting up and packing away.
Pointing out that it can involve a long trip for elderly and disabled people to reach the Town Hall from some parts of Caistor, resident Gillian Somerscales asked, “Can we request longer times?”
Town Clerk Helen Pitman said it might be a case of seeing how the visits work in practice. “I mean, what happens if they are queuing at the door, do they say sorry, your half hour is up?” The context of her question suggested she did not expect that to happen.
The Town Council expects to be able to invoice the bank for using the car park, the meeting also heard. The amount was not disclosed.
